Bad Load Regulation on changing loads

Category: Hardware
Product Number: ADP7182

Hello,

I am using the ADP7142ACPZN and the ADP7182ACPZN for +5 V and -5 V dual supply for op-amps. The LDOs are mainly used to power three ADA4807, two LTC2057 and some multiplexers. Each of those op-amps has a 10 µF decoupling capacitors (plus 10 nF / 100 nF) for each rail. The op-amps are used for different sensor measurments that follow periodically after each other.

During the comissioning of the circuit I discovered that both LDOs react completely different to load changes (the maximum load of the LDOs is about 50 mA).

ADP7142ACPZN +5V:

ADP7182ACPZN -5V:

The change in the -5V LDO on load steps is significantly higher in comparison.

Both LDO are designed similiar although the noise reduction part is different.

What could be the cause of this issue?
