ADP5056 output voltages not being generated

We are experiencing all three of the output voltages on an ADP5056 not being generated despite all input conditions appearing to be as they should. Our experiences seem to reiterate those experienced by other users in the following posts, both of which went unanswered by ADI.

Like those posts, we are interested to hear

1) why the ADRV9001 dev card is using an undocumented value of 261k for the ADP5056 CFG1 resistor, and what does that value do ?

2) why the ADRV9001 dev card leaves ADP5056 pins 1 and 2 as NC when the ADP5056 datasheet explicitly states that they should be tied to ground ?

Hi MarkSaunders

Regarding the regulator not powering up, need to check if all enable signals are high and check for PWM signal at SW pin to check if the controller running.

Pls try replacing chip on the board to check.

Regarding queries

1) RCFG1 Resistor 261K will consider the nearest(200 configuration) from datasheet table 6.

2) Those are internal test pins used for our evaluation to keep them open but in application you can continue conecting ground.

Hi Mark,

At least the circuit shown in the first linked post has a problem that the SYNC/MODE pin is connected to input supply although it is configured as output. It may block the operation of the oscillator.

Hi Heke, thanks, with clarity having been given on the 261k CFG1 resistor being interpreted by the device as 200k, I would agree that the SYNC/MODE pin would then be an output, thus contending with that connected power rail.

By replacing the device, this problem has gone. Possible cause attributed to the fine pin spacing of the device.
