LTM8080 : Input filtering required/helpful?

Category: Hardware
Product Number: LTM8080

Dear ADI power experts,

the LTM8080 is a cascaded DCDC converter with an integrated EMI noise shield.

I understand that DCDC converters (due to their switching architecture) create a lot of noise on the input side.

In order to reduce this "backripple" (conducted emission on the input side), datasheets often suggest to provide for a PI-filter, e.g.,

Is this kind of input filtering required/helpful for the LTM8080 to reduce "backripple"? The datasheet only suggest input filtering using capacitances.

Thanks.

Best regards,
Dan
