The MAX1725A /B /C is touted as a 5.5V to 60V, 60A Current Limiter.
The OVLO is limited to 40V. "The device has an OVLO adjustment range from 6V to 40V."
I do not need OVL so I can just bias the OVLO pin at some voltage between 0.5V and 1.22V to bypass this function.
But it is not clear whether the limit on 40V for the OVLO is a limit on this feature or the safe operating area of the device.
Obviously operating between 40V and 60V places stresses on the internal MOSFET that are not normally experienced when the 40V OVLO is used.
Is the part OK to use at 48V at 6A at more than 40V with the OVLO disabled? If not is there a SOA graph for the part?
