Surge protection on -15V supply line

Category: Datasheet/Specs
Product Number: LTC4366

Hello,

We use the LTC4366 in an overvoltage protection circuit for a +15V power supply input where it works well.

I need to identify a similar solution to protect a -15V supply input from negative voltage surges.  Is it possible to configure the LTC4366 to operate with a negative supply (i.e. in a floating configuration)?  Or is there a different device that you would recommend for this application?

Thank you,

Nick

  • As of now, we do not offer a negative surge stopper.
If you try to use a positive surge stopper in a negative application, you'll end up regulating the most positive rail, which is the reference for the downstream circuitry.
We would like the regulate the negative rail and leave the reference alone.
