What is the trick to allow *four negative* voltage monitoring with LTC2928?

Category: Hardware
Product Number: LTC2928

One LTC2928 (among three) is used in the Agilent DSO9404A to monitor four negative voltages. Schematic is not available.

The question is not "how would this be possible?" but "how did they manage this LTC2928 to monitor four negative voltages?" As this IC is designed solely for four positive or one negative and three positive depending on the VSEL tying.

Checked datasheet, app notes and design notes but didn't find any clue...

Any help appreciated.

  • Hi F1GWR,

Do you have a schematic you can post here or email (brad.lovell@analog.com)?

  • Hi Brad,

Thanks for your answer. I do appreciate.

As mentionned in my former message: "Schematic is not available" unfortunately. And PCB is multilayer. So reverse engineering is almost impossible.

I just wondered if to your best knowledge, such use of a four fold negative supervision by an LTC2928 has already been documented?

As this component is still in active and recommended status, this may lead to an app note broadening its marketing segment...

    Best,

    Christian
