LT8620 accuracy during Burst mode & Inductor selection

Category: Hardware
Product Number: LT8620

Hello,

I am planning to use LT8620 in one of our applications where the load on the output of LT8620 is quite low. Details can be found below.

Vin = 18V to 33V

Vout = 10V

I load on 10V rail = 45mA to 60mA

Temperature = -55degC to 140degC

Below are the questions

1. Since the load is quite low & considering harsh temperature conditions, we are planning to use the LT8620 in "Burst Mode". Since we are using the 10V output for sensor related application, we are also concerned about the accuracy of the output voltage. In this regards, we have a question if the accuracy of LT8620 is the same across all the modes (burst mode, pulse skipping mode & CCM)? because the datasheet dos not provide any hint about accuracy.

2. For selection of the inductor current rating, I can consider the RMS value of the nominal application load current. But other query is during short circuit to ground on the output side. During Burst mode, what will be the max value of the current (is it the high side switch max current value?) & duration? This is needed for Inductor selection. From datasheet I see that the output voltage tends to go to 0V during short circuit, so it is not very clear for me

3. Regarding LTPowerCAD support for LT8620, I do not find burst option. Does the tool only support CCM mode? Is there a way to do stability analysis using LTPowerCAD?

Thanks
