MAX20039 Force PWM & SKIP Mode

Category: Hardware
Product Number: MAX20039

Hello,

I am using MAX20039 SMPS IC in our project. Currently, we are evaluating the SMPS chip with ordering code MAX20039BATPB/ VY+

This scope is measured when Iout is 100uA and SMPS is working with SKIP mode

This scope is measured when Iout is 50mA and SMPS is working with SKIP mode

1-Are these scope measurements as expected?

Our project is a cost-sensitive project. We are expected to use MAX20039ATPA/VY+ which is FPWM mode only,

But in the force PWM mode current consumption is measured as min 5mA with no load. (FSYNC pin connected to VCC) (no load or when all system goes to sleep) (MAX20039BATPB/ VY+)

Only when SKIP mode enabled the current consumption is measured as uA range. ( when all system goes to sleep) (MAX20039BATPB/ VY+)

When our system sleeps we need low current consumption. (around uA range)

2-According to that situation are these current consumption properties normal? Should we use MAX20039BATPB/ VY+ instead of MAX20039ATPA/VY+ or can we achieve low current consumption (around 50-80uA) by using MAX20039ATPA/VY+?

Best Regards.
