Surge stopper with LTC7803 + ADuM4221-1

Category: Hardware
Product Number: LTC7803

Hello ADI team,

Would it be possible to implement a surge stopper with the LTC7803 step-down converter and the ADuM4221-1 isolated gate driver according to the following parameters?

  • Voltage requirements
    • Nominal input/output voltage: 24 V
    • Output voltage limit during the surges: 34 V
    • Maximum transient: 100 ms @ 200 V
  •  LTC7803
    • VIN = 5 V (auxiliary non-isolated PSU #1)
    • SW pin connected to GND
    • It should operate with 100% duty cycle most of the time
  • ADuM4221-1
    • VDD1 = 5 V (auxiliary non-isolated PSU #1)
      • PWM pin connected to the TG pin of the LTC7803
    • VDDA = 15 V (isolated PSU #1)
      • High side FET with 300 V rating
    • VDDB = 15 V (auxiliary non-isolated PSU #2)
      • Low side FET with 300 V rating

Thank you very much for any help in advance!
