Mistake in example circuit for LT3762, dead short

Thread Summary

The user identified a short circuit issue in the LT3762 buck-boost circuit example on page 34 of the datasheet, where the transistor base connects directly to the LED. The final solution involved making cuts as indicated in the provided image to correct the schematic. The user bypassed the FB pin as a workaround, which may have caused additional issues.

Hi,

Take a look at the data sheet for the LT3762, page 34 (the last page) where there is an example of a buck-boost circuit. The transistor base on the right is supposed to connect to LED- but if you do that, you directly short across the LED. I got around it by not using the FB pin, but that may be causing other problems for me. Does anyone know how the circuit is supposed to be drawn? I have attached a snip of the page showing the path of the short.

Thanks for any assistance,

Lloyd Slonim
