Hello,
I recently discovered the LT3040 buffer in your power management offerings and I wanted to see if it could be used in a way not explicitly laid out in the datasheet.
I'd like to use the LT3040 as a low noise voltage controlled current source, as opposed to the standard unity-gain configuration.
At first glance this seems entirely possible by having the VFB pin measure the voltage across a shunt resistor, with the load connected between VOUT and VFB.
I'm mostly asking to see if any of the specifications stated in the datasheet would be still applicable, given that this type of closed-loop operation hasn't been tested.
This would potentially simplify my design quite a bit, as opposed to having a discrete pass transistor and low-noise op amp.
