Max5947 Hot-Swap Controller

Category: Hardware

Hi, I use Hot-Swap Controller MAX5947C for our system. I added the circuit I used below.

Hot-Swap Circuit

When a 50 ohm resistor is added to the circuit output, the first current drawn is above the calculated current value. Afterwards, the current is cut off at the desired interval.

The calculated current cut-off value is 184.3 mA.

The peak value of the first cutted current is approximately 360 mA.

What is the reason for this situation? Do you have any suggestion to solve the problem?

Note: I don't think there is a problem with the PowerGood signal. As seen in the image below, powergood is correct. (There is an oscilloscope image taken from resistor and powergood pin. --Channel 2 is powergood signal.)

I have added the oscilloscope image taken through the resistor below.
