LT8316 UVLO

Category: Hardware
Product Number: LT8316

Hello,

I have used the LT8316 in several of my designs. However, in my current design, I need a precise UVLO. The input voltage to my design is 350VDC and I need it to start at 300 ±10 VDC. Using LTspice or calculating the 1.22V using a voltage divider has not produced any repeatable or accurate data. The datasheet is not very informative on how the UVLO works on this chip. I'm trying to stay away from using any kind inhibit as using the UVLO could save component count.

Please help. Thanks

  • Using a large resistor divider will work as a general approach. The problem that you will have is due to the wider guaranteed range of the threshold voltage and the hysteresis. Your specification of 10V out of 300 is +/- 3.3%. The EN/UVLO threshold itself is specified to a similar 3.3%, but adding on the hysteresis specification can make that tolerance a little more than 10%
