Understanding the LT3758 SYNC Voltage Levels

Thread Summary

The user inquired about the SYNC pin voltage levels for the LT3758. The final answer confirmed that 0.4V is the maximum voltage for a logic low, and 1.5V is the minimum for a logic high. The external clock's 5V to 0V swing is within the SYNC pin's absolute maximum rating of 8V, so it can be applied without damaging the device.

Hi All

I just need to clear a few things up about the SYNC functionality of the LT3758

On the datasheet the SYNC Input Low = 0.4V while the SYNC Input Hight is 1.5V (I don't know why the units are not given on the datasheet)

Is the 0.4, the maximum voltage that can be applied to the LT3758's SYNC pin for a logic LOW and is the 1.5V the minimum voltage that can be applied to the SYNC pin to be counted as a logic HIGH?

My external clock swings between 5V and 0V, can I apply this voltage to the LT3758's SYNC pin or would this damage the device?
