Hi,
We have quite a few systems out in the field with a very long POE line (up to 2000ft) to a PD. The POE is driven by a LTC4266C with an IRFM120A FET and 0.25ohm sense resistor.. Occasionally, the LTC4266 fetbad signal is set and the port turns off. This happens on multiple systems.
The PD is pulling approximately 7 watts with a 56V supply
I've gone through the MOSFET fault detection information in the datasheet though can't determine why fetbad is being set.
Could I get additional information on what could cause fetbad to be set? The FET is never bad and resetting the port fixes the issue. Though, this drops power to the PD which we would rather not have happen.
Thanks for any information!
