Right product for 100A switching current source

Category: Hardware
Product Number: MAX20096

Hello,

I have to design a switching current generator, capable to deliver up to 100 A on a load that is not fixed, but I assume the voltage on the load should be 12 V at max current.

The power supply of the system must be 14 V.

I need a controller with current mode, and the ability to set the desidered output current with a MCU.

Because I don't need a control of the output voltage I'm looking at LED driver that usually are current controlled device, but I can give a look to other products.

I'm lost in how may chip there are and it so difficult to find the right for me. Polyphase buck controller should be also a right choice I think.

Do you have any suggestion about Analog/Linear/Max portfolio for this specific task?

I'm looking for example to MAX20096, but I don't see enough informations about driving such load.

The integrated gate driver for example is capable to source and sink up to 2 A but I don't understand how this specific informations can help. With a Power Mos the gate current never will reaches these values.

Any suggestion about this request will be appreciated, thanks.
