I am using LTM8027 to generate -5V from 12V. Is it okay to use?
Load Current - 3.8A. Kindly let me know the derating at 71C.
1) In datasheet, I found at Vin =12 V, VOUT=-5V, maximum supply current is 4A.
In DN1021, it is given at Table 1: it can supply 4A.
But, in last page of the datasheet, I found that the negative Voltage Regulator can support max current of (4*(1-0.294)) = 2.8A not 4A.
2) In addition to this, Board has to operate at -71C , what will be my derating at this particular temperature?
3) To configure LTM8027 as negative voltage regulator, BIAS1 has to be 8.5V to 15V Above Output. BIAS2 needs a minimum voltage of 3V. So i will connect BIAS1 and BIAS2 together with external +5V reference to 0V -> according to this regulator it will be (+5V +5V ->+10V). shall i leave AUX pin floating?
4) Why AUX pin should not be connected to all output voltages <-5V. but for -12V why are you recommending to connect to BIAS1 and BIAS2. what is the role of this pin?
