In LTC4041 what is a good rule for selecting the [Rprog] supercap charging current?
There is no rule of thumb, but some other parameters you have to check for a proper working circuitry.
1. Is your input source limited?
2. What is your maximum system load?
Normally you want to have the supercap charged as fast as possible WITHOUT demanding too much current from your source. LTC4041 takes care that system load has priority over charging current
There are some special supercaps in the market which limit the charging current, hence you have to check this one as well.
