increase DC2374B Vin and Battery Voltage

Category: Hardware
Product Number: LTC4013

Hi,

DC2374B Evaluation board has an Input Supply Range of 5V to 35V. Why? The LTC4013 has an Input Voltage Range of 4.5V to 60V
What do I have to do to have the input range specified in the LTC4013 datasheet?

DC2374B Charging options are ready for a 12V Battery. Can I use a 24V Lead Acid Battery with this demo board?
How? The LTC4013 datasheet claims that the Battery Voltage Range is 2.4V to 60V

Thanks in advance,

gaston

  • Hello Gatson, the configuration of the evalkit depends on external components as well as other considerations. For example check the BOM to see if the input cap for example has a appropriate voltage rating. Power FETs have to be adopted as well for higher VIn. If you want to/have to modify the evalkit to your needs you have to use the datasheet as base when calculating component values and so on (FETs, Timing, frequency, inductor, dutycycle range etc). Other examples in the ds might be a good starting point as well.
