We are considering to use the MAX77962 in dashcam that requires a small backup battery in case the car is crushed. But we like to disconnect the battery so it will not completely discharge while in storage. The battery in circuit only when the processor is ON or the dashcam is installed in car and connected to to the car main battery. Please not that the dashcam turns on when the ignition turns on. From the datasheet we see that we can use the factory ship mode but that requires the STBY or DISQBAT to be pulled high and the DISIBS (I2C) to be set high. Given that we need to have the backup battery in circuit only when MCU is running how to configure the IC so in storage (production storage) the backup battery will not completely discharged.
