LTC4162 reverse current

Product Number: LTC4162-OL

Hello

I am using the LTC4162 as a power source for my robot.
Please let me know if there is a problem with the power system.
When the power supply to the load side is cut off as an operation, the system is designed so that the supply side is cut off almost at the same time.
At that time, there is a high probability that the operation of the LTC4162 will not end and the voltage will be boosted from the battery to the source side.
What is the reason for being in such a mechanism?
Please let me know if you have any other countermeasures.

Best regard.

  • Hi,
this IC is made for use as a battery charger and behaves like a USV to the output. That is, when Vin is not present, the output is supplied by the battery.
If you don't want this, you'll need an additional mosfet (P-CH) at the output

At that time, there is a high probability that the operation of the LTC4162 will not end and the voltage will be boosted from the battery to the source side.

I don't know if I understand you correctly. But there is the INFET that should prevent this.
I would recommend to simulate your circuit in LTSPICE, so you can check the real behaviour.

    I'm sorry.
I don't know how to deal with it even after reading the datasheet.
    Is it a register setting?
