Hello there,
I have a question regarding diode selection for the LTC3787. The diode(s) I have in mind are the ones connected in the boost circuitry:
The datasheet emphasizes how important it is to have the diodes to be low leakage current spec, but does not mention how important it is for them to have low forward voltage. At the same time, the type of suggested diodes are Schottky diodes. These have greater leakage currents than basic rectifier diodes, but lower forward voltage.
My questions:
1. Is it better to use Shotky diodes here with lower Vdrop, but higher leakage current, ot standard rectifier diodes with greater Vdrop, but lower leakage current?
2. Do I understand correctly that the lower the Vdrop of these diodes, the higher the voltage delivered to the TG and BG?
I would appreciate all feedback.
