Can I double or triple the output voltage of a LT1763 fixed regulator by adding a resistor divider to the sense line (similar to adjust pin but with the reference equal to the rated output voltage), or is this line only good for minor adjustments?

Hello RayC,
Yes, you can treat the SENSE pin as an ADJ pin for fixed regulators by adding a resistor divider to the sense line. For LT1763-1.5, the feedback voltage would be 1.5V. You may calculate the resistor divider by considering that SENSE pin on the fixed output parts draws about 10μA regardless of the OUT pin’s voltage. There is an available LTspice model for LT1763 so you can try and simulate this.
