Dear Sir
We observous the LTC9101-1/LTC9102/LTC9103 has Proprietary Isolation Scheme .
Does it have any other scheme replae it ? (reference using Transformer between LTC9101 and LTC9102)
on our desing we need to reserve isolation between System to LTC9101 in order to meet spec
thanks
Hello,
The communication between the LTC9101-1 and LTC9102s/LTC9103s is through a high-speed data interface over either a proprietary isolation scheme or direct connection scheme.
In the proprietary isolation scheme, the LTC9101-1/LTC9102/ LTC9103 chipset uses transformers to isolate the LTC9101-1 from one to four LTC9102s/LTC9103s. The transformers should be 10BASE-T or 10/100BASE-T with a 1:1 turns ratio. These transformers typically provide 1500V of isolation between the LTC9101-1 and the LTC9102s/LTC9103s. Optimally, the selected transformers do not have common-mode chokes. If a transformer with chokes must be used, the chokes should be on the LTC9102/LTC9103 side of the isolation. Refer to the figure below.

In the direct connection scheme, the LTC9101-1/LTC9102/LTC9103 chipset relies on pre-existing system isolation. In this scheme, the LTC9101-1 connects directly to one to four LTC9102s/LTC9103s using a proprietary communication protocol. Refer to the figure below.

Best Regards,
Eric
