I'm trying to design a circuit using the LTC3440 that can output 3V 36mA.I don't know how to set the values of the components and the datasheet isn't making it very clear how I should go about doing this. Can someone explain the design process?

Hi buddingcircuitdesigner,
I would start with defining your design parameters such as Vin, Vout, Iout, etc. Once you know this, the Applications Information section of the datasheet contains a lot of info regarding components selection.
You can also copy a design from the Typical Applications section and modify from there.
Dont forget to use LTspice to simulate and test your design.
