On page 11 of the most recent datasheet of LTC3126, there is explicitly states that Vin2 MUST BE connected to PVin2 in the application. See first image. That is how it routed in official LTSpice simulation provided by ADI and that how it also is done on the schema of the demoboard DC2215AF. However, this seemed weird to me from the moment I saw the pin diagram of both packages (TSSOP and QFN). See second image. Vin2 and PVin2 literally couldn't be further apart on these packages. I also checked the top and bottom signal layers of the demo board, I searched through the pdf downloaded from its webpage and went through the CAD files. Those 2 pins are not connected.
I studied the block diagram of the internal circuitry of LTC3126 for all the purposes of Vin2. I also ran a simulation in LTSpice without this connection. Can I assume that since Vin2 is a Kelvin connection and therefore not critical to the operation of regulation, that the connection between Vin2 and PVin2 is optional?
