How do the LTC4231 drive capability and reverse protection function?

The LTC4231 is not suitable for this application. The LTC4231 is a Micropower Hot Swap Controller for 1A or 2A applications as shown on the datasheet.

The main limitation of the LTC4231 is the limited gate driver. The Igate(up) is limited to 10uA (nominal) 7uA (minimum).

I suggest looking at the LTC4239.
