LT3045-1 Electrolytic Cap at the Input

 On page 19 of LT3045-1 datasheet, it is stated that adding a high ESR tantalum or electrolytic capacitor at the LT3045-1 input in parallel with a 4.7&micro;F ceramic capacitor helps with stabilization. I was wondering if it is possible to use an aluminum polymer capacitor instead of tantalum or electrolytic capacitor for the same purpose. Could you help me?

Yes, an aluminum polymer capacitor is o.k. to bypass an inductive network at IN of the LT3045-1 since even the aluminum polymer has relatively high ESR compared to a ceramic capacitor. Aluminum polymer capacitors are relatively expensive, so that is why aluminum electrolytics are more popular for that purpose.
