Hi,
we have encountered a problem several times with the LTC4364.I am trying to understand why the chip stops to work at any particular moments. It occurs when our board is powered On each time.
In fact, the U3 MOSFET is no longer closed, HGATE drops to 0V but DGATE voltage seems OK.
See below our schematic. I think that some components our undersized.
VIN has the range 7V to 36V.
Our sytems works around 2.5A in nominal mode. We have never measured peak current during power ON. RLIMIT seems not to be involve, because I tried to power ON several times the systems with this Resistor shunt. And it still doesnt work.
If someone have an Idea or already met this issue ?
Thank you
Hi Matthew26,
Can you check if the FET is in the safe operating region when you power up the circuit? You can also double check your design using LTSpice or you can get hold of a demo board as it is good to have a working reference design to better understand the chip or the the issue.
