[LT3758]: Not generating -12V as shown in datasheet

Hello Everyone,

I am currently designing an inverting regulator using LT3758 for generating -12V with reference to the circuit provided in the datasheet. But I am not able to generate in the simulation, Please help me completing the simulation because without any proof that the design works I can't go for PCB design, Since this is my first time dealing with this IC.

Please find the simulation result, circuit in LTSPICE and from datasheet below for reference.

Thanks,

Jayanth

  • Hello Scott,

Actually the Diode and capacitor network was there from macromodel of the IC in LTSPICE, I didn't know the full functionality. As you said after removing them also we were unable to generate the -12V, Then I updated my LTSPICE and increased inductance to 47uH instead of 15uH (as per my spreadsheet calculation it was around 35uH min) now it is working.

Thank you for your suggestion, Actually It made me revisit the circuit and complete the simulation or else I was ready to use some other part.

    Thanks,

    Jayanth.
