LTM8047 not working: output ~38V

Hi,

I am testing multiple LTM8047 that is connected to a digital potentiometer. This is the circuit used:

The ADJ pin is connected to a digital pot varying the resistance between 10k and 21k . But the output is always ~38v . This is true for multiple chips on the board.

The voltage on the ADJ pin is 0.22 when 10k was set and ~0.44 when 21k was set. This could confirm that the ADJ pin is soldered right.

What are we missing here ?

  • We get the parts from digikey. They have provided some replacement parts and it seem to have the same issue. I got a DC1693A board and applied 5v on input and see the output as 5v. Have not changed the resistance in the demo board. I am not sure what else can be checked.

The issue is not that the output is 0V or something. Its 32v. So, I'm not sure if its a bad solder on the BGA.

Is there an email I could forward our board details too, and not publically share the design files for our board.

  • Can you connect to local FAE? They can help look at your design closely. If you can share me project details and estimate annual usage, I can help connect you to one.
