LTM8047 not working: output ~38V

The voltage on ADJ suggests that the pin is being pulled down too hard. Try it with a 10k resistor, then evaluate the value of the digipot.

I used a fresh LTM chip and used a real 10k resistor on the ADJ pin.

The output voltage is 37.5v while the voltage at ADJ is 0.215v. 

It seems like the entire batch of LTM chip is damaged ? 

I don't know. Something is wrong. Are you sure all of the BGA pins are connected with no shorts?

I haven't checked with an Xray machine. But visually I dont see any short from the edges etc. The spacing is large enough that its not easy to short the BGA. Could I direct message you the schematic and board outline ?

We don't have an answer for this too. You have to help figure out what the problem is because it may be board issue or it could be the IC itself. Make sure you've got all the parts from an authorized distributor. Please try your circuit in the ADJ pin with a working demo board.

We get the parts from digikey. They have provided some replacement parts and it seem to have the same issue. I got a DC1693A board and applied 5v on input and see the output as 5v. Have not changed the resistance in the demo board. I am not sure what else can be checked.

The issue is not that the output is 0V or something. Its 32v. So, I'm not sure if its a bad solder on the BGA.
