Hi
I am considering using LTM4606. However, there is something I don't understand about the input capacitor.
Could anyone please tell me about the following two points?
(1) The data sheet says "A large bulk 100µF capacitor is only needed if the input source impedance is compromised by long inductive leads or traces.", but why does the use of bulk capacitors improve the source impedance?
(2) Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are used in the evaluation board for bulk capacitors. Considering the ripple current rating and the maximum input voltage including the ripple voltage, is it okay to use tantalum capacitors?
Thank you.
