ADP8866 draws too much current at boot-up

Question

I'm trying to boot-up the ADP8866 LED driver on a protoboard following the typical operating circuit (1 uF C1, 1 uF C2, 1 uF Cin, 1 uF Cout) without luck. 
 With a power supply Vin=3.3V, the current fluctuates between 5mA and 30mA until it reaches 50mA (max current limit on the power supply) after about 20 seconds. At this point, a short is measured between Vin and GND, which was not present before power on... When the chip is reflowed, the short disappears and appears again following the same procedure. 
 Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Xavier, 
 Connecting D8, D9, and nINT to GND might be causing the device to work unexpectedly. We suggest trying to float these pins then power up again your circuit. 
 For the waveforms, kindly send the Vout, Vin, and Iout waveforms first.)
