LT8364 inverting load transient response

Hello,

I am currently simulating a circuit with the LT8364 in inverting configuration. So far I am satisfied with the results, only the load transient response is really slow and I get a voltage drop of about 0.8V for a load of 0.3A to 1A to 0.3A which seems a lot to me. Anybody can help me with that?

Also I cant really get a proper bode plot. I am not shure if I am doing the simulation wrong or if the configuration just has a bad phase margin.

Can you make a bode plot like this with an inverting LT8364?

Thank you!

  • Hi Jaslau,

Thank you for using our product. I notice that you're setting the converter at PUSLE-SKIP+SSFM mode. At SSFM, it's a little more difficult to compensate the control loop. I would recommend you to set it at BURST mode.

Also, the current ripple ratio at 1AIout is quite high. Please increase the inductance to 4.7uH. Finally, change the Vc compensation network to 470pF C and 400k ohm R.

When you build the circuit, make sure to check the transient response again and tune the compensation correspondingly.
