LT3020 SHDN pin query

Question

Hi, 
 As per the datasheet, the SHDN pin should be driven with either logic or an open collector/ drain device with a pull-up resistor. 
 In our design, we are planning to drive the SHDN pin using and IO expander (PCF8574RGTR). 
 Is this approach good for driving the SHDN pin or do we need introduce an open collector/ drain device??

You can drive SHDN of the LT3020 with the PCF8574RGTR with no problems. I just looked at the datasheets of both devices.)
