About LTC3882 external DrMOS

Hello

I have a question about the LTC3882's external DrMOS.

Is there a recommended DrMOS with the following specifications?
Please let me know if there are any recommended products other than FDMF5820DC and FDMF6820A.

Input voltage: 12.0V
Output voltage: 0.85V
Output current: Maximum 26.0A

I would appreciate it if you could reply.

Best regards
Knj

    Hello  Knj,

The LTC3882 or LTC3882-1 can be used with any DrMOS meeting these criteria:

    1. Three-state compatible PWM input. This means the following:
      1. When the PWM output is high, the top MOSFET turns on
      2. When the PWM output s low, the bottom MOSFET turns on
      3. When the PWM output is high impedance (in other words it is floating), both the top and bottom MOSFETs are off
    2. PWM input is 3.3V compatible. This is important since the LTC3882/-1's PWM output swings from GND to 3.3V.

DrMOS meeting these criteria can be used, provided the maximum Vin and output current are sufficient. The LTC3882/-1 is also compatible with the latest DrMOS with a current sense output.

    Best regards,

    Mike
