Means for CCTV cameras- higher switching frequency switching regulator (ADP2301-1.4 MHz) is better or 700 kHz switching frequency regulator ADP2300?

    Vaishali,

    there are many variables in selecting the appropriate switching frequency for your design.

    In general with higher frequency the efficiency will be a bit lower but the circuit design will be smaller as long as the duty cycle is not limited by the IC timing limitations.

    You can experiment with some tradeoffs by using ADIsimPower. When you enter the operating conditions and performance requirements the tool will allow you to select the different switching frequencies and allows you to change external components to easily compare the performance of the circuit.
