LTC7862 Gate Current

Hi,

I will use LTC7862 to protect my circuits against MIL-STD-1275 100V surge. Continuous current will be 60A for 28V. To handle that I will use four parallel mosfets. Also, I will use four additional mosfets for reverse polarity protection. But I worried about that can LTC7862 drive four+four mosfets ? Did you tried it before ? Under surge condition my switching frequency must be very low to drive them all.

Do you have any suggestion for that kind of circuits ?

Thank you ,

Best Regards,

  • Hi jamiryo,

Sorry for late reply. I hope you got other source to answer your question. In the datasheet, I can only find 20A application so I don't think we have tested a board that designed for 60A continuous. Because the power components are external, it may be possible though I have the same FET question as you have. You may use LTspice as model is available to guide you. The other challenge is the inductor.
