Difference between LTM8058 and ADuM 5020 in terms of EMI and efficiency

First of all, I want to learn why there is no info about EMI compatibility certifications in LTM8058 datasheet? If I decide to use this IC, what should I do to prevent radiated and conducted noise? ADUM series isolated converters has these emission standards but their efficiency and output voltage level are low compared to LTM.

I want to use a tiny power isolation IC which has 1,5-2kV isolation voltage and 0,6W output power. Can you recommend another product or how can I use LTM8058 without any EMI problem?

Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Markus,

Thanks for reply. I examined this document. I want to ask why there is no CISPR22 info in LTM8058 data sheet? ADuM6020/28 has this information. Can I achieve the CISPR goals for LTM8058 with just using additional filtering components?

My second question why there is significant efficiency difference between two IC?

  • Hello,

we cannot perform CISPR22 test on every demoboard we produce, that's the main reason. I'm pretty sure that you can achieve the required EMI limits with the LTM8058, a proper layout and good filter components.
LTM8058 and ADuM5020 feature complete different topology and different components for isolated power transfer.
