Hi Team
Can I connect VCL to ISV resistance instead of RCL ? Can this circuit work ? thanks

Hi Aggil,
Do you mean to use only one sense resistor instead of two (one RCL and one current sense shunt)? It may be possible but I'm not sure if that is recommended. My preference would be the datasheet recommended schematic using two sense resistors. I would request you to reach out to a local ADI FAE to consult your idea further. RCL is intended to sense inductor current with big AC ripple that is also meant to establish current limit level for the switching converter operation. The current sense shunt is intended to sense DC current for battery charging.

Hi Aggil,
I got information from product owner that it could be possible to use one sense resistor for both CL and ISV pins, but that performance may likely be degraded. We would not be able to offer much in the way of support for a single sense resistor design as it has not been our focus to make it work. The two recommended sense resistors serve two different functions in the AD8452.
Hi Fil
Thank you !
