I am using LT3093 as a negative voltage regulator in the following configuration:
Input is -12V and output set by R8 is -9V.
Leaving the board on overnight, I see the device is completely burnt and its PCB pads were damaged too.
I also use LT3045 on the same board but the damage was only done to the LT3093. The only difference is that the LT3045 has diode from PGFB to input for protection as per the datasheet while the LT3093 does not as it contains internal diode protection.
Am I missing something here in terms of connection?
Can I also add a diode between output to the input or output to ground to the LT3093?
