LTC7803+LT8550 5 Phases application

Hi,

As datasheet mentioned, LT8550 is in tandem with any buck DC/DC converter to increase the load current capability.

We do like to combine LTC7803+LT8550 5 Phases application to achieve 19V->12V/85A which is around 1kW.

If it is a suitable design ?

Is there any limit for the "Primary Controller" to cycle-by-cycle duplicate the operation ?

Please kindly help with it.

    Hi Snow,

    The LT8550 has not been verified to work well with the LTC7803. The max frequency of the LT8550 is 1MHz where the LT7803 has been optimized for much higher frequencies with much fast switching times. The LTC7803 may work well with the LT8550 but it won’t be able to take advantage of the optimized faster operation of the LTC7803. Also the LT8550 has only been verified to work well with the controllers found on the LT8550 datasheet. Testing will therefore need to be done with the LT8703 to ensure compatibility.
