ADM1266 Leakage Current

Hello,

I've taken over support for a CPU board developed by another engineer at Arista.  In this design, there's a 3.3V CR2032 coin cell which is converted to 1.5V by an ADP162 LDO.  This rail feeds the RTC of the x86 and is monitored by VP11 of the ADM1266.  We had a customer receive a relatively new board with a dead battery so I'm investigating the root cause.  Can you tell me what the leakage current would be for this input on the ADM1266 when the device is not powered up? After looking at the spec I think it's only 1uA, but I'd just like to verify.

Thanks,
Steve

  • Hi Steve,

Hopefully our FAEs already got back to you on this.

I did some test on an unpowered part with all the pins floating, when I applied 1.5V and 3.5V no currently was drawn through the VPx pin (smallest value that I can measure is 0.0uA).

When I powered up the part the leakage current was ~43uA at 3.5V on VPx which corresponds to 81k and falls in the ballpark of 62k (typ) stated in the datasheet.

All the tests are performed at room temperature.
