Ideal Didoe LTC4373

Hi,
I wanted to design a circuit to select a battery pack between three packs. batteries nominal voltage is 48V and there are two main packs and an auxiliary pack for failure situations. by powering on the system one of the main packs should be used until its voltage drops to 40V and then the second main pack should be inserted into the circuit. So, I need a prioritized ideal diode for achieving the mentioned specification. I wonder if you could guide me to select a suitable component in this regard.

  • Hi Hamed,
Unfortunately, we do not have a 48V prioritizer that can manage three supplies, but will note your interest in such a product.
You could make a 48V prioritizer using an LTC4359 on each battery as a load switch, and then use a couple LTC2965s to monitor undervoltage and enable the appropriate battery.
I built the described circuit in LTSpice to simulate your application. I'll have it posted shortly from another account.
