LTC4364: MOSFETs Rds(on) instead of Rsense

Question

Hello, 
 I'm building high current power source and plan to use LTC4364 as a ID controller and current limiter in case of short circuits events at output. 
 To be effective I've thought of using FETs Rds(ON) as a Rsense for current limiting feature. Can you advise if this method possible in this controller and application?

Using FET Rds(on) for current sensing yields a much larger tolerance on current limiting when compared to a sense resistor (e.g., see LTC4213). The FET configuration here is unclear but I don't think it works out since SENSE-OUT absolute maximum rating is +/- 30V max and the SENSE pin is used not just for current limiting but also for ideal diode control.)
