# Noise reduction for negative reference

Hello all,

I would like to use the AD587 as negative reference, as described in datasheet, Fig.17, but want to add a noise reduction capacitor (as described for positive reference) between Pins 4 and 8.

Is this possible?

Tnx for support!

• GA,

For inverting amps, if the gain is -2, then the noise gain is +3.  If the gain is -10, the NG is +11, so it's not that

bad.  For low absolute gains, I try to use non-inverting topology.  If you have a spectrum analyzer or can

borrow one, it would be good to see the noise vs. freq.  Did you read the apps section on the ADR435 d.s.??
