ADM1176

How do I tell if the part I have is a ADM1176-1 or a ADM1176-2 , if I can't access the actual part.

Is there a silicon serial number / ID I can read on the I2C to tell ?

Have some  ADM1176-2 that seem to be behaving like ADM1176-1,

  • Hi,

yes there is a branding code. -1 model is M5U, -2 model is M5V. (And yes, i dont know why someone decided to use a U and V to differentiate this and it may be difficult to distinguish :-) ).This is listed in the ordering guide on the datasheet. If your device is the -2 and still exhibiting an auto retry behavior, please check the input voltage. If the overcurrent is causing the input supply to dip it may be possible that the device is being reset and the cycle continues. Please check power supply current limits, input voltage, power distribution line inductance and resistance etc.

    Thanks,

    Marcus.

  • Thank you Markus

Yep know about the branding code, but as mentioned, I have no access to the actual parts physicaly, but I can access them over the bus.
