LED: variable current driver

Happy new year,

I am interested in making a super torch for my own lab. I was impressed by the DC/DC LT µmodule (previous professional work).

So, what you suggest me to use to drive some super LEDs that I picked from a LCD-TV (Vf=3V, If=280mA) to make my light projector. Also, I want to be able to adjust LED current by a voltage reference (DAC) or a variable resistor...

PS: I have 32 LEDs that I can split into strings.

Thank you.
