LT3040 output voltage up-scaling

Hi all,

The LT3040 has an input pin called V_FP. In all circuit schematics it is tied to the output directly. However according to the data sheet, this pin is only connected to the inverting input of the internal amplifier, so it would seem to me that one could have a resistive divider in the feedback loop, thereby effectively up-scaling the output voltage.

Is this indeed the case? If so, why is such a trivial extension not mentioned in the data sheet?

I would like to set the output voltage via a DAC, and since the DAC's output is limited to 2.5 V, it would be great, if I could save an op amp.

Thanks,

Zoltán
