Are there known problems with the LTC3723-1 LTspice model operating at 1MHz?

I am trying to get the LTC3723-1 model to produce driver outputs with it's oscillator running at 2MHz for a 1MHz switching frequency. I can't even get the model to work properly with respect to it's MOSFET driver outputs with even a 1MHz oscillator for a 500kHz switching frequency. Is this a known problem with the LTspice model of the LTC3723-1?

Is there a work around for this problem if there is not something i am missing in my attempts to simulate a 1MHz design?

  • The LTC3723 is only rated for 1MHz clock frequency. CT = 70pF for ~1MHz. LTspice runs ok at 1MHz if blanking and delays are not excessive.

  • To avoid this kind of mistake in the future I would recommend that the data sheet list of features either explain that it's reference to 1MHz is the oscillator or when configured for single ended operation.  Without qualification, frequency of operation for a switch mode controller IC would normally be expected to refer to the switching frequency.

    The TI spec sheet for the IC I am planning on using because it is capable of a 1MHz switching frequency – the LM25037 –, qualifies it's reference to frequency on it's list of features on the first page of it's data sheet as: "Resistor Programmed 2-MHz Capable Oscillator".
